LET US HELP YOUR FAMILY

What is Family Therapy?

Family therapy is a type of treatment that is meant to help with problems that influence the mental health and functioning of families.

It can help individual family members create stronger ties, improve communication, and resolve conflicts within the family system.

When a family goes through a traumatic incident that strains family bonds, such as financial difficulties, divorce, or the death of a loved one, they may benefit from therapy. Furthermore, it can help with mental health conditions that impact the entire family, such as depression, substance abuse, chronic disease, and eating difficulties. Family therapy offers guidance with everyday concerns of children and adolescents, such as communication difficulties, interpersonal conflict, or behavioral problems. The goal of family therapy is to enhance understanding and collaboration among family members to address difficulties for one or more persons. For example, if a kid is experiencing social and academic difficulties, counseling will focus on the family patterns that may be contributing to the child’s acting out rather than examining the child’s conduct alone. As the family discovers the cause of the problem, they may learn to support the kid and other family members while also working proactively to reduce or change the situations that contribute to the child’s unpleasant behavior. Family counseling may be tough and stressful since it entails discussing emotional difficulties and disagreements. In certain situations, patients may feel worse before they begin to feel better. It is critical to remember that a professional therapist is available to assist family members in working through these issues and dealing with the high emotions that people may experience.
